DEUTZ becomes the market leader for electric and hybrid drive systems
Torqeedo produces components, software and integrated systems for electric drives for boats. The company was founded in 2005 in Starnberg, Germany, and now has offices in 50 countries. Torqeedo products are developed according to the latest technologies and have the maximum efficiency.
The acquisition of the specialist in the field of electrical equipment makes it possible to gain expert knowledge much quicker than at the expense of one's own experience, as well as to electrify DEUTZ product range where it makes sense from a technical and financial perspective. This step will speed up the E-DEUTZ strategy. It is based on the development and implementation of innovative hybrid and electric drive systems, as well as modular technologies for reducing emissions and carbon dioxide. The plans include the downsizing of internal combustion engines and the related lowering of fuel consumption and operating costs.
Torqeedo's technological knowledge and experience will allow DEUTZ to bring the first products to market under the E-DEUTZ strategy in around two years’ time – far earlier than if it had gone down this route alone.
